Evaluation, Meet and greet process

BEFORE JOINING OUR WAG & BREW FAMILY WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PUP IS A GOOD FIT. WE ARE VERY THOUGHTFUL ABOUT OUR CURRENT FURRY MEMBERS AND IT IS OUR GOAL TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY DOG FEELS LIKE HOME DURING THEIR STAY AT WAG & BREW.

  • First we will go over some paperwork to discuss health history and dog behavior with dog parent.

  • Then, we will do a snout to tail assessment to identify sensitivity in touch that dogs may have.

  • We will comb to asses for flea and ticks.

  • Your dog/s will be introduced to other dogs on leash in an area separate from the play area.

  • Once we feel they are doing well on leash we will let the dog/s off leash and observe how they play.

  • Once your dog has meet multiple dogs from our pack, we will introduce your dog/s to the play area.

  • During the evaluation we will observe for any signs of aggression or severe anxiety that may make them unsuitable for the group play.

  • Approved, YES/NO? Hopefully YES!

STRESS FREE BOARDING

If your dog hasn't been to daycare or boarding in over 6 months, we require that your dog come and spend the day to get re-acclimated to our environment (fees apply).

We have noticed that dogs that visit our daycare frequently have minimal to no stress while boarding with us as they are familiar with our staff and facilities. Help your dog’s boarding stay be less stressful and more fun by scheduling daycare visits ahead of their approaching stay. The more visits your dog has the less stressful their stay will be!

Inclement Weather Policy

Wag & Brew typically follows the FCPS and/or Federal Government weather-related closings, but service closings are decided on a case by case basis. Clients will be notified via email of any cancellations or delays.

Wag & Brew will make a determination no later than 10pm the night before inclement weather is predicted as to whether our office will have either a delayed opening or be closed for daycare.

Dogs already in boarding will still receive full care, however, dogs scheduled to be dropped-off or picked-up in the event of a closing or delayed opening will need to be rescheduled.

Late Pick-up and early drop-off

At Wag & Brew we understand things are going to come up! We get that you can not control traffic or weather-related delays. If you think you will run late for pick-up or need to do early drop-off, please give us a call so we can make alternative arrangements as needed.

Remember! Our business hours are:
Monday – Friday: 6am-8pm
Saturday: 7am-8pm
Sunday: 10am-6pm

Wag & Brew provides a 5-minute grace period for pickups after closing.

  • $10 late pickup fee is applied for pickups 10-20 minutes after closing.

  • $20 late pickup fee is applied for pickups 20-30 minutes after closing.
